Different Solar Panel Mounting

Light form the sun can be directly converted into electric energy by means of a device known as ‘solar panel’. Being the renewable source of energy and also many applications, this is being employed by most of the people today. Hence, what becomes the most important is Solar panel mounting, so that suns (renewable) source of energy can be utilized to the maximum

The following are some of such Solar panel mounting systems. With their own pros and cons, there are three major types of solar panel mounting systems. They are flush mounts, roof ground and pole mounts. If you don’t want to invest much on Solar panel mounting, then Flush mounts are the best choice. Though cheap and simple to install with, they cannot support large solar panels. Next is the Roof ground solar panel mounting system. These can be installed on ground as well as on the roof, hence known as Universal mounts. We can even tilt so that can capture the maximum of the suns energy. On the other hand, roof ground solar panel mounting systems are more expensive than flush mounts.

Last is the pole mounts, depending on which side the solar panel mounting is to be placed on are divided into three types. Top pole mounts, side pole mounts and poll tracking mounts. Besides these are the clamps (a device to hold objects) that can be used as mounting clamps for solar panels. Among which, Klipklamp being the most popular.

The reason behind this mounting clamps becoming more popular is, unlike the traditional clamps used, there is no need to drill holes on the roof for solar panel mounting. Hence, if want to remove them, then you can do so with a minimum or no damage to your roof. Not only as solar panel mounting, klipklamp have a variety of applications such as in antennas, air conditioning, signs, conduit and hot water and much more. The biggest advantage of using klipklamp is that it is designed in such a way that it can tolerate high wind. Therefore, prevents the multiple modes of failure that can be encountered.

Roof Fastener & Concealed Fastener

Fastener is a device that has the capacity to hold one or more objects together. Some of the simple examples of fasteners are bolts, screws, button or even a zipper. Roofing and concealed fasteners are the one among the types of fasteners. Coming to roof fasteners these are commercially used in almost all industries.

These roof fasteners have the capacity to tolerate high winds. Not only this they also have the capacity to overcome corrosive conditions which is the natural problem experienced by most of the roof decks. These roofing screws are attached to the roofing insulation both metal and vinyl edge details.

Most of the roof fasteners are heavy duty and serve for multipurpose. Some of the advantages of roof type fasteners are as follows. They are best suited for built up, single ply roofing installations. Besides also used in metal plates, plastics, insulation, wood roof decks and even in beaten bars. Most of the fasteners are manufactured with carbon steel. To avoid the environmental pollution for example rust and to make it corrosion resistant, epoxy coating is used.

Concealed fasteners work holding each deck board individually. Besides this even allows different materials like plastic and composite materials to behave accordingly to the climatic conditions like expansion or contraction thus avoiding stress. Not only this, they even provide power to hold different decking like plastic, PVC and composite types. One such example is Alphanso fastener. Construction plays an important role in Concealed fasteners . There are constructed in such a way that they are U.V resistant and also made of polypropylene. These are also used in wood decking.

These being the hidden fasteners are more advantageous than screws or nails. These are also most versatile being made of PVK deck, plastic or composite material. These are also durable as they do not allow the water to penetrate through, the common problem in cold areas. These are also cost effective as they don’t cost much than a screw. They even take much less time than screws to get installed. These are even firmly fixed to the sub substance. Klipklamp is another important solar mounting type as they help install the solar panels without drilling which is the common problem faced. Klipklamp help in mounting solar panels with almost no damage. Not only solar panels they are used to mount signs, antennas, conduits, air conditioning etc.

The Wind Turbine Generators

A machine that converts wind’s so called kinetic energy into mechanical energy which in turn is used to do work is known as Wind turbine. Today more advanced models are into in which the mechanical energy is converted to electricity by means of a generator.  Such type of wind turbines are known as Wind Turbine Generators (WTG).

There are various models of wind turbines among which the common are the vertical and horizontal turbines. In case of vertical turbines, as the wind blows into, the drag is observed and the efficiency is 50% besides can produce more power if they placed near or close to the ground, hence also becomes much easier to transport and also to install. Horizontal wind turbines are operated upwind with mostly three or two blades. Horizontal can be placed in uneven land or in offshore locations which is less possible in vertical turbines. If want to be the owner of one, it’s always a better choice to go for generators that are on sale.

Larger wind turbines definitely produces large amount of energy but the smaller models on the other hand being more mechanical. Some wind turbine generators are of three and some are of two blade. Among these the three blades can not only spin smooth but also easier to balance too. The large wind scale turbine was first built in United States in 1934 by Palmer Cosslett Putnam. This was capable of producing 1250 kW of energy that can meet the needs of a small town.

Continuous research is being done to acquire knowledge on wind resources. In the upcoming years these are said to be most prevalent. Hence in the future wind turbine with more durability, efficiency and ofcourse that are numerous in number be achieved. In order to choose a wind turbine certain points may be taken into consideration. To optimize the winds energy a local survey of the onsite becomes essential. It is better to know the capacity of transformer which can easily be detected on the metal plate at the side of transformer. Maximum turbine bearing capacity of your site may be taken into consideration.

Coming to the advantages, as the wind energy is a renewable source there is no fear of energy running out. These even reduce the co2 which is one of the most important factors regarding green house effect and global warning. Besides, all these they are definitely cost effective too.

Mounting Clamps for your Solar Panel

Solar panels are those which absorb the suns energy and make them useful and available in the form of mechanical energy.  Solar panels are otherwise known as PV panels. Depending on the use, various panels are available in different shapes and sizes. Solar panel mounting is an important task associated with solar paneling. The following are some of the important types of panel’s mounts and also can get an idea how to choose a panel mount that best suits your solar power system.

The three major types of Solar panel mounting systems such as polar solar mounts, roof ground mounts and flush mounts with their pros and cons are discussed. Depending on which side of the mounted they are to be fixed, pole mounts come in three different types. They are side of pole mounts, top of pole mounts, and the poll tracking mounts. Solar panels can be easily wired as he access to them is easy. Obstacles can be avoided as the panels can be raised to the height desired. Anchoring and digging a hole and ofcourse construction costs cannot be neglected.

Mounting clamps are also recommended widely as they are easy to install. Nylon mounting clamp is one such example. As we have seen some of the mounting devices require holes to be drilled for their installation. Well, this can be avoided by using Klipklamps as solar panel mounts. They are used for a variety of mounts and they cause only limited or minimum damage to the roof or ceiling to which it is attached.

Roof-ground mounts as the name suggests can be employed on both roof and on ground. To get a best sun angle an adjustable tilting is available. And also has an advantage to be positioned anywhere and cost is also effective. On the other hand to fasten these mounts heavy duty equipment may be required which may not be encouraged by some states.

Last but not the least is Flush mount. This is the easiest and cheapest means that is adopted for domestic purposes. Due to the features like easy installation, light weight, low wind resistance, low cost they are of best choice. The disadvantage is they are suitable only for small solar panels and also pre wiring is required. Considering the above factors, choose the panel that is best suited.
